Greetings!
A pleasure to meet you!
I am Steven Le, Chemistry Laboratory Technician of MGC Pure Chemicals America Inc and aspiring Analytical Chemist! When it comes to quantitation, characterization, information, and so on, I am the person for the job!
I’ve always loved the task of defining, measuring, and evaluating, and it was only an inevitability for me to pursue Analytical Chemistry as my field of choice!
Learning how and why things work has always captured my curiosity, and you can hardly go further than chemistry!
Why can’t you pour oil down the drain?
What makes UV rays so dangerous?
How does copper conduct electricity so well?
Everything revolves around the interactions of atoms, and since chemistry is the study of atoms and largely influences the world around us, I believe I can contribute the greatest good with it as my study of choice.
….plus, I must confess laboratory coats feel cool to wear.
What am I doing now?
Skills
As someone befitting of a B.S. in Chemistry, I am familiar with chemical synthesis, purification, and analysis as well as operating a breadth of equipment (including Schlenk lines and inert gloveboxes) and analytical instruments.
Particularly, I am skilled in NMR analysis and various MCP characterization methods (ICP-AES, GC-MS, TGA, DSC, UV-Vis, etc.)
Chemistry aside, I also command training in Biotechnology and photography as well as the more advanced tools in Microsoft Excel such as creating tables, setting conditional checks, and so on.
That being said, a more exhaustive presentation of my skills is located under the Resume section of the website, and I invite you to give it a read.
